Status Update: Lab Stray

Well, only one more day till the Lab Stray becomes the property of the Westford Dog Warden, but I will wait until Thursday, 2/26 before I take any action. I've already had to bring the little guy to the Vet's Office (Tamarack Vet Hosp/route 128) because of a little "run-in" with one of my dogs. The little guy got himself a nice cut just below his eye, which swelled up a bit. We also discovered he was infested with tapeworm.
Well, he's on his way to being worm free and his swollen eye was looking excellent this morning. I also have him a nice bath using a flea/tick shampoo. Since dogs get tapeworm from fleas,,,,it's logical to assume he had fleas during the warmer months.
On Friday, 2/27, he is scheduled to get neutered, after which he should be ready to go up for adoption. He has responded very well to our walking sessions, and is quite good on the leash as long as a choker is used.

A young male lab mix has been picked up, and is currently in our shelter. He is on the small side, maybe 45lbs, and was wearing an oversized collar without any tags.
He is a very friendly dog, however he does not appear to be leash or house trained.
If anyone thinks they know who the owners might be, please contact me ASAP!

Owners Found!

Another Happy Ending! (Oh how I luv happy endings)

The owners of the ADORABLE little beagle has been found. My many MANY thanks go out to everyone who emailed me with hints and suggestions. I again have to thank everyone who contributed information. If it weren't for everyone's help, this little lady may have had to suffer through another night away from home. (Even though we enjoyed her company tremendously!!)

Stray Dog Found on Old Stage Rd

An adorable little beagle was found today, Monday December 15, near the intersection of Old Stage Rd and Woods Hollow Rd. She is a mature female beagle who was picked up by a Westford resident after seeing her around noon time, muddy, cold, shivering, acting disoriented and crying.
She was wearing a fabric collar with dogbones on it, but no tags. She is very tame, friendly, good natured to both humans and other dogs. She appears to be an older dog, and looks like she's had pups in the past. Her breathing gets heavy, and she seems to "snort" from her nose at times.
If anyone has any information regarding to whom she may belong to, please let me know.

Updates from Cocoa's New Owner

I received an update from Cocoa's new owner, which I've posted below.

Hi,

I just want to update you about Cocoa.
Thanks to Caesar Millans Techniques Cocoa is doing super.
He is the favorite of little kids at Calahan Park as well as with people in general.
He generally gets along with most dogs and loves to run in the dog park. We take long walks and he has never had an accident here in our apartment.
I was able to purchase a full size crate for him at Recycle North for just two dollars. I put him in it when I can't take him with me. If I don't he will knock things down and lay on my couch - which I don't want him to do.
Squirrels are his achilles heel however. His hunting and tracking instincts are strong.

OWNERS FOUND!

Another story with a happy ending. (I luv happy endings!) The Chocolate Lab, who we now know was named "Hershey" has been reunited with her family. Being new to Westford, they weren't sure how to go about reporting their dog as being missing. Yesterday evening, they dropped by the Town Office, and Nanette pulled up this blogsite. After seeing the photo's, she confirmed that it was her dog, and they then gave me a call.
Thanks to everyone who helped out, from the very kind resident who first found Hershey and called me, and to all those who sent me emails on possible leads.
